  • One of my favorite illustrations: Our son, Ryan, has had over 30 surgeries in the first 15 years of his life. When he was about 8 years old, he was in the hospital for another surgery. The medical staff had already given him the “Barney Juice”, a purple liquid with something like morphine in it. The medical staff then began to roll his surgery bed to the operating room. As usual, we accompanied him to the two big doors that led to the place of surgery. That is where we stop, and tell him all will be “ok” for the last tim

  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Love the people, preach the Bible, don’t violate your God-given conscience, but seek God in all your ways.

  • Hobbies: Writing, photography, sports, music, reading.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Just believe God: about what He says about Himself, His Only Son, and His children in Chist. Forget all the other voices, and cling to His.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I did my first wedding with my pants unzipped. Fortunately, my suit jacket covered it well, but I was really embarrassed.
