About Ron
  • Education: Madison-Grant High School
  • Experience: I retired from U.P.S. as a driver after 27 yrs. I have been involved in church life and ministry at most every position and level. I am currently pastoring Harmony Christian Church, Elwood, In. We have seen a nearly 100% growth since we started there in December of 2005 with 100-110 attendees. We thank God for His abundant grace and mercy.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Take what you can use and forget the rest. Iron sharpens iron. Let’s all enter eternity sharp as a two edged sword.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: "The 10 Commandments" "I accept that challenge" Elijah on Mt. Carmel
  • One of my favorite illustrations: As a U.P.S. driver, I was delivering to a house and a small boy was looking at me in my brown uniform, then he saw my brown U.P.S. truck. He then shouted to his mom,"Mommy, mommy, the chocolate milkman is here." Can people tell who you are and whom you represent by looking at you? Does your life represent Christ and can people see it, even without words?
  • Family: I married Jackie in September of 1974 and we have 1 daughter whom, with her husband of 10 yrs. have given us 4 granddaughters. They all serve and love the Lord. We have 1 son whom has been married for nearly 2 yrs. and they have no children yet. They are on staff at Living Stones Fellowship in Crownpoint, IN as youth pastors.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: I think they are pretty proud but they are also pretty partial.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She doesn’t say much. She is not impressed. But don’t misunderstand me. She is my greatest defender, allie and friend.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be yourself Have passion for The Cause
  • Books that have had an impact: Comeback Churches Ed Stetzer &Mike Dodson Tortured for Christ Richard Wurmbrand Seismic Shift Kevin G. Harney
  • Hobbies: I have a Yamaha Royal Star Tour Deluxe motorcycle that we enjoy riding, especially with others of our church family.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: God is love. Faith, hope, and love, the greatest of these is love.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I was telling a joke starting my sermon as an ice breaker. I was certain no one had heard it. Before I got to it, a 5 yr. old boy on the front row, blerted out the punch line.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Faithful man of God
