About Rolland
  • Education: I am a graduate of Sunset International Bible Institute, and have a biblical studies certificate from Western Christian College. I have also pursued certification in counseling and have studied Homiletics and Greek (though those studies are ongoing). I am in love with the word and spend at least 3 days a week reading your sermons, commentaries, and many, many books.
  • Experience: I have been in ministry in various forms for 12 years.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Have at ’em!
  • Family: I am married to an amazing wife and helper named Laurie, and we have four incredible children.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Trust God with His message...if you’re trusting yourself, your message will speak to heads and not hearts.
  • Books that have had an impact: Too many to list but the top 3 are as follows: Divine Conspiracy - Dallas Willard Celebration of Discipline - Richard Foster The body broken - Jack Reese
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I used to use a manuscript, on a Christmas sermon I was a page in when I realized that my printer ran out of ink...The rest of my sermon was lost to blank pages. All I could do was confess and sit down. Needless to say, I no longer use notes.
  • What I want on my tombstone: prisoner of the Lord

    Contributed on Dec 10, 2009

A very truncated look at the history of christianity. This message presupposes that many people believe restoration history bypasses the reformation and catholicism. However, it is unhealthy to not acknowlege our past. Instead we ought to embrace it.

HISTORY: Very, Very Truncated. “In the past God spoke to our forefathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the universe.” Hebrews 1:1 In trying to better ...read more
