About Randy
  • Education: Graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Clare College (now Franciscan University) in 1996. Also attended Grand Valley State University from 1991-1993.
  • Experience: Youth Director at Ferry Memorial Reformed Church in Montague, Michigan from 1997-2002. Junior/Senior High Pastor at Gun Lake Community Church in Wayland, Michigan from 2002-present.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Most of my sermons are somewhere half-way between and outline and a full text. I can’t write a full text of what I am going to say - I feel that I need to leave room for the Holy Spirit to work during the message.
  • Family: Randy married Becky in August of 1999 and they have a daughter, Leah, who was born in September of 2001 and two big dogs.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: My mother would never miss one of my sermons, if she could help it. There have been times that I didn’t tell her that I would be preaching and somehow she finds out and shows up to hear the sermon!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: hmmm.. I wish I knew the answer to this one...
  • Books that have had an impact: The Emerging Church Roaring Lambs, Bob Briner Wild at Heart, John Eldredge Purpose Driven Youth Ministry, Doug Fields
  • Hobbies: Computers - have a business called Bennett’s Bytes (in my spare time). Basketball Woodworking
