About Phillip
  • Education: I have limited class education beyond High School. However I was raised as a pastor’s son under a wonderfully caring father. I watched and learned under him how to lead a group of people not lord over them. From that experience and the many opportunities I have had to serve as children’s pastor and associate pastor in Oklahoma and California, I have much of the hard knocks experience that has helped me find prudence and wisdom in many hard situations.
  • Experience: Birth – 21 Pastor’s son / 21-30 Associate pastor with my father (During this time my wife worked on staff with Carman ministries. Carman encouraged my wife and I to step out and find our passion and place. We soon found ourselves as children’s pastors and speakers. / 30 – 38 Children’s pastors at three different churches / 38 – now Senior pastors over a church who is all about family ministries
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: In some degrees I am educationally challenged. But if you will look beyond miss spelled words and miss used words I believe you will find a message from God that has been filtered through a little boy who has been hurt to many times by “church People” yet get’s up every morning and still loves serving them. May God bless us all in all that we must go through to get the message through. Be strong!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Two years ago I launched our "family Matters" ministry and taught a series called "I tried to submit, he would cooperate. I have tuaght these lesson in other churchs and have continues expansion of this series. The latest being "A walk through the garden"
  • Family: I have two very mature and active daughters in our church. Our oldest daughter Christie is a successful businessperson in our community and over sees the projection ministry in our family sanctuary. Our youngest, Chala is married to a great man who has become a close friend. Together they have given Jan and I four wonderful grandchildren. Gabriel, Israel, Cearealia and Phillip
  • What my parents think of my sermons: We have limited doctrinal differences, but I am more of a teacher than my father who was totally prophetic and preaching. Yet I receive so much encouragement from them every time they get a chance to sit under my teaching. I think they are proud of me and I give God all the glory.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She seems to feel I am to hard on myself. I always get a thrill looking over her notes from one of my sermons.
  • Books that have had an impact: exposition of the Gospel of John - Arthur W Pink
  • Hobbies: Trains, golf
  • What I want on my tombstone: This is not the last you will hear of him
