  • Experience: Ordained into Ministry in June 2007 (ULC), served in the Recovery Ministry at Valley Real Life Church. Served in online ministries in 2010 including becoming the Apologetics Examiner for Spokane, Washington. Served in the Discipleship Ministry at Eastpoint Church in 2011.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: As a lay minister I exhort you to take everything with a grain of salt, but I eagerly share the love of Christ through His word and seek to back up any express claims with attribution when possible.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: God's Temple Building, an Expository Historical/Cultural/Literary look at Genesis 1.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: By and large the "Lifehouse: Everything Skit." I've seen many versions of this and it is the most powerful illustration of the love and grace of God amid the trials and hardship we face in life.
  • Family: I have been married to my wonderful wife Lonna Wright since June, 2005. We met by happy accident one night when I decided to log into ICQ to see if anyone was still using the service... apparently God was! Our marriage has certainly been through the motions but we remain steadfastly devoted and committed to each other, our service to God, and the greater Pacific Northwest community to which we serve.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: While I have attempted to witness to my parents many times, unfortunately they are no longer a part of my life as they are adamant unbelievers.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: As much as we love counseling and supporting each other at home she has commented that my public speaking is either overly silly or over her head.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "Sharing the word of God is 99% Holy Spirit and 1% you. Don't discount that 1% though, the Holy Spirit uses it 99% of the time." - Elder Steve Soper
  • Books that have had an impact: Biblical Counseling Library by June Hunt Charles Ryrie Commentary The Case for Christ - The Case for Faith - The Unexpected Adventure -Lee Strobel Following the Master - Michael Wilkins Tactics - Greg Koukl Reasonable Faith - William Lane Craig
  • Hobbies: I write a great deal. In 2008 I published my first science fiction novel Dark Ascendance for Lulu Publishing. Further works are in the works.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Jesus loves you, never forget that.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: As an illustration of countering criticism of Christ as the Son of God a fellow Pastor took the position of Interlocutor (pretend adversary) cult leader and I interrogated him dressed as Columbo, demonstrating Greg Koukl's Columbo tactic to the fullest. (Worst Italian accent ever, they thought I was John Gotti)
  • What I want on my tombstone: Not I, but He.
