About Mark
  • Education: David Lipscom University(1971-1973) University of Louisville(1974) Graduate School(1997-Univ. Lou.)
  • Experience: Evangelism and Personal Work since 1972
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I seek to produce only those kind of sermons\outlines which rightly divide the truth. If you have an itching ear, my sermon will probably not scratch it! After all, truth hurts!
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Sermon on the Mount(Matthew 5-7)
  • One of my favorite illustrations: Paul’s illustration of the unknow God on Mars Hill.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They think they are scriptural and well-illustrated.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Longer than they need to be.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: 1. Keep it simple and don’t talk above people’s heads. 2. Don’t talk or brag about yourself 3. Know when to shut up. 4. Always preach Christ and Him crucified 5. Rightly-divide the Word of Truth, staying True to the Word.
  • Books that have had an impact: The Bible, N.B. Hardeman’s Tabernacle Sermons(3 Volumes), Collection of Sermons by J.W. McGarvey, Zerr’s Bible Commentaries, Point Man by Farrar, Piloting The Straight by Dave Miller, Restoration Reprint Library by College Press
  • Hobbies: Maintaining Church’s Web Site, Baseball(KC Royals), Tinkering on my old car.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Let he who thinks he stands take heed, lest he fall.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Bent too low in the Baptistry(wearing waders)when I baptized someone and didn’t have any dry clothes to wear home!!
  • What I want on my tombstone: At home at last
