About Larry
  • Education: Northwest College of the Assemblies of God (now Northwest Universtiy.) Berean School of the Bible (A division of Global University)
  • Experience: Associate Pastor in music and youth ministries in two churches. Senior Pastor of 4 churches over 23 years of ministry beginning in 1985.
  • Family: The Kettle family consists of Larry, Marilyn, Amanda, Joshua, and Angela. We are a family that loves the Lord, each other, and life! We love to sing and worship together.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Stand up, speak up, shut up and sit down!
  • Books that have had an impact: Death by meeting, by Patrick Lenconi, taught me how to lead meetings more effectively. Running meetings effectively is key to ministry effectiveness.
  • Hobbies: Song Writing, sequencing musical arrangements, keyboarding.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: While preaching in Kansas I was bragging on the beautiful mountains of Colorado and how there wasn’t any state as beautiful as the Columbine state. One lady in the congregation took issue and countered that the Sunflower state was better because of the Sunrises and Sunsets. Looking to break the tension I said, "In whatever state your in we are to be content." I couldn’t understand the laughter of the audience until my wife explained it to me after the service. I was talking about an emotional state, the congregation thought I was still talking geography.
  • What I want on my tombstone: Someone that God used!
