About Larry

  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I hope you have a little humor and sarcasm in your soul.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Signs of Life Catching the Flame Series from Galatians Series on the Tabernacle
  • One of my favorite illustrations: It has been easy my whole life to understand the love of God,for me, for, you see, I had a mom and dad that constantly reminded me that they loved me and were proud of me. When I realized and accepted that God was/is my heavenly Father, I already knew what His love looked like and felt like.

  • What my parents think of my sermons: 'I'm the baby (even at 60!), my mom thinks I'm wonderful!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: My best critic
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: You're not serving Man or the church, you're serving God. Be faithful, be obedient, be passionate - be yourself.
  • Books that have had an impact: Other than the Bible... "Yes...And! by Richard Rohr, The Man God Uses by Blackaby, The Golfball Doesn't Lie by Me,
  • Hobbies: Golf, Fishing, Making decorative crosses, reading
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Do ministry, live life, make God proud!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: So many, One Sunday I was preaching in my SMALL church, a young boy (about 5) got up and walked down the isle and around to the back of the church (that's where the bathrooms were, after a minute you could hear him, uh, you know, "going". we could all hear him (remember, small church), I stopped and said loudly, "close the door!"
  • What I want on my tombstone: Know I know what it took for some of you to show up at one of my services.
