About Joshua
  • Education: Pastor McKinney received his ministry credentials through the Assemblies of God by correspondence from Global University in Springfield, MO. Pastor McKinney holds a License to Preach by the Assemblies of God, and formerly a License by an Independent Baptist Church.
  • Experience: The McKinney’s pastored for 4 years in Indiana before moving to Olive Branch, IL, where they pastored for two years. They are currently pastoring New Life Assembly in Coffeen, where they have been for two years.
  • Family: Pastor Joshua McKinney, his wife Kimberly, and their dog Scruffy live in beautiful community of Coffeen, IL.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Preach Jesus! When you preach Jesus, signs and wonders will follow. The greatest wonder is when someone is born again. Don’t worry about preaching current events or topical issues, just preach Jesus. When you preach Jesus, you’ll never run out of things to say.
  • Books that have had an impact: "How to Be Happy Giving Your Money Away" by E.M. Clark "Little Things Make a Big Difference in the Outcome of Your Ministry" by E.M. Clark "The Jezebel Spirit" by Dave Williams All books by Kenneth Hagin and Lester Sumrall
  • Hobbies: Playing the piano, singing, fishing, bowling.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: In the middle of preaching, I was "getting in the Spirit" and I began to dance in the middle isle. My pants almost fell down! They didn’t, but almost!
  • What I want on my tombstone: He was balanced!
