About Jon
  • Education: I graduated from Penn View Bible Institute which is located in Penns Creek Pa. www.pvbi.edu
  • Experience: I was a youth pastor at the New Columbia Pa. God’s Missionary church for approximately 9 months during my senior year of college. I began pastoring in Cordele Ga. in September 2002.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I do not claim originality for all of the content contained in these sermons. I do use others outlines and illustrations and content from time to time. I try to make sure that I mention the source of where any content has come from in my sermons. Especially if I use other’s outlines. I try to only list original outlines on SermonCentral. I do not always footnote illustrations due to the fact they come from so many various sources. One thing I find troubling is when I read word for word sermons on various sermon websites with no acknowledgement of the original source. Somehow I doubt that God is giving two, three, and four preachers the exact word for word sermons to preach! It may be okay to preach an exact sermon that someone else has, but surely if you are going to list it on a website, you should acknowledge the source...
  • Family: I am married to the most beautiful lady in the world - Michelle!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: I am not sure I want to know.....
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: God does not need my ability. He simply needs my availibility to be used by Him.
  • Books that have had an impact: Any books by Samuel Logan Brengle. "Ablaze for God" by Wesley Duewel. "Beyond the Gate" by Leslie Wilcox. "The Establishing Grace" by A.M. Hills.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Get ready, get ready, get ready!!!
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Too many to mention!!
  • What I want on my tombstone: Here lies a man who gave all for God.

I would like for you all to turn with me to Acts 29… Of course there is no Acts 29! This sermon deals with the reality of blinded eyes and deafened ears of those who are in sin. May God help us to help take the blinders off and the ear plugs out!

An elderly woman stood on a busy street corner, hesitant to cross because there was no traffic signal. As she waited, a gentleman came up beside her and asked, “May I cross over with you?” Relieved, she thanked him and took his arm. The path they took was anything but safe. The man seemed to be ...read more

This sermon invites those listening to partake of the Living Water that Jesus provides through the Holy Spirit.

A small boy is sent to bed by his father. Five minutes later... “Da-ad...” “What?” “I’m thirsty. Can you bring drink of water?” “No. You had your chance. Lights out.” Five minutes later: “Da-aaaad...” “WHAT?” “I’m THIRSTY. Can I have a drink of water?” “I told you NO!” If ...read more

This is the second sermon in a three part series on the Holiness of God.

Last Sunday morning I spoke to you about the Holiness of God. I focused on the holiness of God the Father. This morning I would like to focus our thoughts on the holiness of the Son – Jesus Christ.
