About John
  • Education: BS of Mid-America Bible College in OK City. 15 hours toward Masters in Counselling at Fort Hays State University in Hays Kansas
  • Experience: 19 years pastoring in 3 different churches. First year as church replanter.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: Let God mold you in His image. Each sermon is a story that carries a different messae to the presentor and listener. Personalize the Word and it will be personal to those who listen to you. Our world is looking for "the real thing" we have that in Jesus Christ, let them taste the Christ in you through real life living and preaching.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Rejoice in All Circumstances - was the result of a trying time in my life learning to praise and rejoice in all circumstances. 1 Thess 5:16-18
  • One of my favorite illustrations: There was a woman in a church who meet the pastor at the back door every Sunday, shook his hand and said, "You sure told them today preacher!" One winter day a big snow storm hit. The streets were shut down. No one made it to church but the pastor’s family and this church member, who lived across the street from the church. The preacher decides to give her the full load anyway. So they do a full service with 30 minute sermon. The pastor stands at the back door waiting for her to come shake his hand wondering what she will say to day. She took his hand in hers and said, "Great sermon pastor, if they had been here, you would have told them." Moral - some people only hear for others. :)
  • Family: Married for 24 year in Dec 02. Bobbi is my soul mate. Son who is 20 and lives in Ga. Ruth is 19 and attending our Bible college in OK City.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Be yourself
  • Books that have had an impact: Overcoming the Grasshopper Complex - is an inspiring account of Joshua’s journey into the Promised Land.
  • Hobbies: Karate, computers, dulcimer.
  • What I want on my tombstone: He was a peace maker.
