  • Education: Master's Degree in Church Leadership and Change Managment
  • Experience: Youth pastor for 3 years Solo Pastor in Iowa for 7 years Lead Pastor for 13 years in Oakdale, MN Lead Pastor for 10 years at LIfeSpring Church in Valley City OH
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I like to have fun and laugh a lot. While my sermons are often very hard-hitting and right to the point there is often enjoyable and fun and you are going to laugh a good bit as you travel towards the sometimes stinging point.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: The Emotionally Healthy Church Campaign - yet to post
  • Family: Michelle - wife two daughters and a son
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They actually like them. They always tell me they enjoy hearing them (in-laws as well). I am actually able to keep my dad awake during my sermons which is a feat in itself!
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She enjoys listening to them. So much so that she right now has to make a choice between a good Sunday school class and sitting thorugh a worship service and she has chosen to sit in the worship service.
  • Books that have had an impact: "The Devine Conspiracy" by Dallas Willard
  • Hobbies: Model Railroads in the winter R/C aircraft when it good enough to get out and fly
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: When I was in West Union IA we had a door at the front of the church right off the stage. It had a window in it and everyone could easily see this door anywhere in the sanctuary. While preaching one Sunday a squire climbed up and went spread eagle in the window paign and stayed there for several minutes. As everyone started to laugh I finally looked over and saw what was happening. So much for the sermon on that day!
  • What I want on my tombstone: Here was a man after God’s own heart.
