About James
  • Education: I have a Masters degree in Theology and I am a fully ordained minister.
  • Experience: I started out as a youth pastor then I became an associate pastor then in 2002 God called me into full time ministry in Denver, NC where I am currently the senior pastor.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I wish you could hear these sermons preached! I don’t always get on paper what God gives me while preaching.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: I love sermons by sermon central contributors: Pastor James MAy and Pastor Glenn Newton.
  • Family: My wife’s name is Tami, I have 3 children two girls, Amanda and Brynn and a son, Christopher.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: They love them, my Dad has been a pastor form over 40 years and still pastors a church full-time.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is hungry for God’s word and absorbs everything I say from God like a dry sponge.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Obey God and listen to His every calling. I learned that God does not call the equipped, He equips the called.
  • Books that have had an impact: Anything by Max Lucado
  • Hobbies: Picking bluegrass gospel music, spending time with my family.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: "Repent or Perish, and do not be ashamed of the Father or he will be ashamed of you"
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I was hold a baptismal service at the Lake near our church and while I was preaching on the bank I swallowed a bug. (John the Baptist ate locusts so I don’t think a bug hurt me)
  • What I want on my tombstone: "To live as Christ and die is gain"
