About J. Douglas
  • Education: DMin in Theology
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I always preach with the intent of equipping. That every sermon should give you something, convict, comfort or whatever.. but at the very least they should apply to your everyday life as a Christian. I dont preach to the theologian - but try to instill in people a working understanding of the Word that they can apply.
  • Family: Wife - Deborah two children three grandchildren
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Well, I hope she is honest with me, she says the energy and animation, and the word work well together. Also that you can carry something away from each sermon that makes you think and apply.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Love your people and preach the Word
  • Books that have had an impact: Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire, Turn around strategies for the small church, Eathing the Elephant, Prayer of Jabez, They smell like Sheep, Leadership for a changing church
  • Hobbies: weight lifting, football, golf
  • What I want on my tombstone: HE LOVED THE LORD, HE LOVED HIS FAMILY AND LIVED LIKE IT.
