About Fred
  • Education: I have no formal schooling as far as ministry is concerned. I completed two years of electronics training after high school.
  • Experience: I am at my first church. Suwannee Baptist Church called me to preach in 1995 and I have been here since then. It has been a time of learning and growing. I have enjoyed every day of it. This church is the church that every new pastor should have the privilege of being called to.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: You are not looking at the best but what you see is sincere. I try to preach in such a way that people have to make a choice for Christ or for the world. May you find something that will help you or spark a thought that will develop into a message to encourage others and lead them to Jesus. That’s what we’re all about!
  • Family: I am married and have three boys, two daughter-in-laws and two grandchildren.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Love the People.
  • Books that have had an impact: The Prayer of Jabez;
  • Hobbies: Fishing - I had never salt water fished before coming to Suwannee. Now I love it. It is surprising how many opportunities to witness I find while enjoying a day of fishing with church members and prospects.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Today is the day of salvation...we have no promise of tomorrow.
  • What I want on my tombstone: 2 Timothy 4:7

    Before we hurl accusations at "Didymus," we had better check to see that it is not we in fact who are his twin. There are many who doubt Jesus in on way or another.

    A confused and fearful group of disciples needed more than anything a word of confidence from someone who could give them back the security that had been taken from them at the cross.

    RESURRECTION REVELATIONS John 20:19-22 It was resurrection evening: the disciples were unorganized (Judas was dead; Thomas was gone; Peter was humiliated; and all were distraught). They were hiding in fear, doors were shut and locked, and there was no leadership or boldness among them. ...read more

    Those who refuse to step out on faith, (no matter the amount), run the risk of allowing Jesus to pass by for the last time.

    "OPPORTUNITY ALMOST MISSED" Mark 10:46-52 (020317) Bartimeus was typical of every person making the journey through life. He was blind to what was going on around him other than what someone told him. We are blind to the things of God unless someone tells us and then we have the same choice ...read more

    The question of "Why God loves us"is answered with unquestionable gratitude and reverance.

    A Tribute to the Almighty 1 Chronicles 16:8-12, 25, 34 The old Hymn, "My Tribute," says, "How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me?
