Jesus encounters a man, who like us is collecting things. Also, like us, he is missing one thing. In this scripture reading Jesus tells him and us how to get that one missing piece we are missing.

Through his baptism, Jesus transforms believers, heals us and we are adopted into God’s covenant community and thus we are no longer estranged from God.
