About Dr.
  • Education: Doctorate and Masters in ministry from Andersonville Theological Seminary with undergrad work at The University of Miami and George Mason University.
  • Experience: Been ordained in the ministry for 25 years. Youth pastor at Sunset Hills Baptist until 2006. Senior Pastor at Greenbrier Baptist in Arlington VA followed by Calvary Baptist in Asheville NC and now Clifton Baptist in Clifton Virginia.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: The kids call me the Shrek pastor, one of a kind!
  • One of my favorite illustrations: How is a pearl made? When an oyster gets an irritation it forms a pearl. the pearl is a sign of a healed wound. Is it any reason that when we die we go through the what? The pearly gates, healed wound, no more pain.
  • Family: The father of two and the grandfather of 1 and 1 on the way. Born in Connecticut but has been in Virginia since 1980. Been married to my beautiful wife Sheri for 27 years as of 2016.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: Both have passed and lived in Connecticut. They never got to hear me in person.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Just asked her and she said they are good!
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Never be afraid to preach an entire Bible concept - Dr. David Hottel.
  • Hobbies: Sports in general, photography and vacations at the beach.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I was doing a message on who's suit do you wear. I had bought a suit jacket at Salvation Army store. I made a video pretended that I had the suit made. In the middle I started cutting it in pieces. A lady in the congregation turned to my wife and yelled "STOP HIM"!

When I did this one I painted a sign that said "Love Is". Each part of a letter was painted in random order until it was finished. I have the people come up at the end and add a stroke.

Freeing 1Corthinians 13: 4-7 from hijacking I am sure that you have attended a wedding maybe this year or at least not so long ago. There are certain things you can expect at any Christian wedding. It’s good to have a bride and a groom that helps, and a pastor officiating the ceremony, ...read more
