  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: If you enjoy them, use them, and tell others, if you don’t enjoy them, don’t use them and tell God! (use them as an outline, but make them your own, it is fine with me. I know that any sermon can be improved on)Please feel free to contact me at E412ministry@yahoo.com.
  • Sermon or series that made a difference: Steve McCranie’s "Love Jesus, Hate Church" order it from his website or the last time I check Walmart.com also carried it. Worth the price and the time to read it.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The one where the evangelist takes the young boy who seems not to be too serious about living for God fishing. When they get to the water the evangelist grabs the boy and throws him into the water. Not being able to swim the boy does what come natural, he sinks. The evangelist has waded out to him and grabs him bringing him to the surface long enough to let him breathe in air, then he pushed him back under holding him there for a short period. He then pulls him up again, let’s him breath and you guessed it, plunges him back under. After the third time, the boy total exhausted, comes up, lifeless, gasping for air. The evangelist drags him back to the shore, throws him down and says, "Now, when you want God as much as you want air, come see me!"

  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: Seriously.....they could be better!!!!
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: "When preaching the Word of God remember this, there will those churches that will not accept it and they will not invite you back, but for every door that man closes, God will open a new one."
  • Books that have had an impact: The Bible Steve McCraine "Love Jesus, Hate Church." Tommy Tenney’s "The God Chasers", "The God Catchers", and the "Dream Team".
  • Hobbies: Golf, or I should say hacking at it, fishing, reading, and studying the bible.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: Don’t go into Eternity unprepared to meet God. Eternity is a long time to spend being wrong.
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: Not exactly when I was preaching but rather just as I was preparing. I had been singing and playing my guitar. To set the stage for you to really enjoy this, I had just meet the girl who was going to become my wife and was trying to impress her. During the change from singer to minister, I need to take the guitar off and place it in its stand. All the while I was talking to the crowd when I noticed the cord had tangled around my foot. Rather than draw attention to this fact and bend over to slip the cord from around my foot, I gentle kicked my foot to get it untangled. Well, Murphy’s Law came into play. The cord became more entangled, I kicked a litte harder, and well...when one falls down on stage...it gets noticed..and is good not only for some laughs, but for a funny story to tell later. And yes, she still married me!
  • What I want on my tombstone: Taken in the Rapture!

People sometimes need to experience God, with skin on.

God with Skin on Isa40:l "Comfort, oh comfort my people," says your God. While I understand that this passage is talking about God’s People Israel, or Jerusalem to be more exact, I think it behoves us to also look at it in light of the Golden Rule. We are all God’s people, some have just ...read more

What is the real role of women in the church? For those who insist that a women, "must be silent in church," you need to look at biblical church history.

I Corinthians 14:34-36 Wives must not disrupt worship, talking when they should be listening, asking questions that could more appropriately be asked of their husbands at home. God’s Book of the law guides our manners and customs here. Wives have no license to use the time of worship for ...read more

  • Free Us From The Petty Tyrannies

Petty arguments, ideas, and beliefs will only tear the church apart.

Romans 14:2-9 2-4For instance, a person who has been around for a while might well be convinced that he can eat anything on the table, while another, with a different background, might assume he should only be a vegetarian and eat accordingly. But since both are guests at Christ’s table, wouldn’t ...read more
