About Curtis
  • Education: I graduated from Clear Creek Baptist Bible College in 1994.
  • Experience: I have been in the pastorate since 1990.
  • Comment to those looking at my sermons: I hope my sermons will make you think about your position before the Lord.
  • One of my favorite illustrations: The story of Charing Cross.
  • Family: Married to Kathy Jo Phillippe Brock for 33 years. I have one daughter, Kristi who is married to Travis Crawford. I am the proud "poppaw" of Austyn Lacey Crawford.
  • What my parents think of my sermons: I think they are proud of me for my stand on preaching the word of God.
  • What my spouse (really) thinks of my sermons: She is my best critic, and she tells me when I don’t quite measure up.
  • Best advice given to me about preaching: Keep to the book, and don’t deviate from it. Of course, the book is the Bible...God’s Holy Word.
  • Books that have had an impact: About any book that Adrian Rogers has written. I also enjoy Dr. David Jeremiah’s book, especially "Captured By Grace."
  • Hobbies: I love Southern Gospel music. I played golf but not to well.
  • If I could Preach one more time, I would say...: "Jesus is coming soon, and you better make sure that you are ready when that time comes."
  • Something funny that happened while preaching: I was preaching about the call of God one day and almost on cue a ladies’ cell phone rang out. I responded instantly with, "See He’s calling her right now!"
  • What I want on my tombstone: To be remembered as one who was faithful to God and His Word.
