This moving and powerful video asks some important and difficult questions. When did we forget how to love? Did it happen sudden, or was it a gradual decline? When did we forget the very foundation of the Gospel? For God so…loved. Love is what moved God to action. Love is what held Jesus to the cross. Love is what rolled away the stone…but we’ve forgotten that part. Without love, we are simply a resounding gong, a clanging cymbal, a bunch of noise. Without love…we are nothing. Is that what people see in us…meaningless, empty, noise? Maybe it’s time the Church…was more like Jesus.

Sometimes we live life in the middle of a storm. Left out in the open and exposed to the elements. No matter where we look, protection seems miles away. Shelter feels out of reach. Lately, these storms have grown stronger, more difficult to bear. Where do we look when we can’t see the way forward? In the midst of the ebb and flow, God promises to be our refuge and our strength. In our most desperate moments, we can rest safely behind the Rock of our salvation. Yes, life has its troubles, but our God is a mighty fortress. Our stronghold and our refuge.

Ever the optimist, the director, Joel, gives him a few tools to help him learn about caretaking and fatherhood, and points out to Joseph that the man he is depicting from the Bible was also radically underqualified for what he was going to encounter. But God tends to use the most unlikely folks to do the biggest things, because He’s a God who never gives up on us. This video is part of the mockumentary-style series, “The Glory of Christmas.”
