Summary: The ingredients for real joy is a mixture of all the above pain, it sounds weird but that is real!

Works out for good……….

I was recently encouraged by Romans 8:28 which says: “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

All things work together for good to those who love God! Did you read the words: all things? Not just a few but all! Are you there? Yes,

• all those things that hurt you badly,

• all those things that you suffered for which you have still not found an answer,

• all those things that has caused others to mock and lampoon you,

• all those things that has caused extreme agony and mental torment…..

….still these, I mean the above mentioned painful experiences are going to work together for good! Hurray! You may not understand now! Later, He would unravel the mystery! Be still! The ingredients for real joy is a mixture of all the above pain, it sounds weird but that is real!

When my daughter told me that the father of three grown-up daughters, working for the Lord had died in a road accident, it shocked us; after one year, my daughter found one of the daughters in the worship team on the stage of a big church. Hurray! That’s what happens to those who love God! The world would go bonkers but God would keep you sane and wise in the midst of storm and tornedoes!

You know what, today people just cannot take failure; they just want string of success, super-duper victory, accolades and applause, but did you know there is blessing through failure? Yes, it helps you grow in the image of God, it keeps you grounded and also humble. Are you there?

Friend, you might wonder: where is God when the husband walks away from his wife and kids? or Where is God when a young kid is diagnosed with cancer? Let me tell you something, the above scripture promises that all the pain and tears work together for good according to His purpose! His purpose! After fifteen years of serving the Lord, when I was diagnosed with serious problems in my uterus and I had to undergo a major operation, the entire family wondered: why Bala? I had no answer or revelation either, I just went through the operation; it has been a year and half now after the operation, do you want to know the outcome? It has made me: humble, patient, calm and compassionate!

“It honors God when, in darkness, despondency and despair we can bravely say, “Still I believe Him. I take hold upon His strength in the midst of my feebleness. If I perish, I perish. But I know He will not let me perish trusting in Him.” – Rev. Charles Spurgeon
