This sermon explores God's promise to pour His Spirit upon His people, emphasizing the potential of youth, the power of prophecy, and pursuing divine anointing.

Introduction

Beloved, we gather here today in this space, a sanctuary of grace, a haven of hope, a refuge of redemption, to engage with the Word of God. We are not here by accident, but by divine appointment. The Almighty has drawn us together, in this place, at this time, for a purpose that is as profound as it is personal. We are here to listen, to learn, and to live out the truths that are found in the pages of Holy Scripture.

As we prepare to open our hearts and minds to the wisdom of the Word, let us remember the words of the great preacher Charles Spurgeon who once said, "A Bible that’s falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t." This is a truth that resonates with us, doesn't it? The more we engage with the Word of God, the more we find our lives held together by His grace, His love, and His truth.

Now, let us turn our attention to Joel 2:28-29:

"Then, after doing all those things, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will pour out my Spirit even on servants—men and women alike."

This is a promise of God, a divine declaration of His intention to pour out His Spirit upon His people. It's a promise that is as relevant today as it was when it was first given to the prophet Joel. It's a promise that speaks of potential, of power, and of purpose.

Our first main point will focus on the 'Promised Potential of the Youth.' The second will center on the 'Power and Purpose in the Prophetic.' And the third will emphasize 'Pursuing the Anointing as a Young Person.' These points will guide us as we seek to understand and apply this Scripture to our lives.

Let us pray.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for Your Word, a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. We ask that You would open our hearts and minds to receive Your truth today. May Your Holy Spirit guide us into all truth, illuminating the path before us and leading us into a deeper understanding of Your will and Your ways. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Promised Potential of the Youth

In the heart of the scripture, we find a promise that is both profound and personal. It's a promise that speaks directly to the youth, to the sons and daughters. It's a promise of potential. God says, "Your sons and daughters will prophesy." This is not a maybe or a perhaps. It's a definitive declaration. God is saying, "I will pour out my Spirit upon all people." This includes the young people. This includes you.

The youth are not the future of the church; they are the church. Right here, right now. God doesn't see age. He sees hearts. He sees potential. He sees sons and daughters who are ready to prophesy, ready to speak His truth, ready to make a difference. God is not waiting for you to grow up. He's not waiting for you to get a degree or a job or a spouse. He's ready to use you now. He's ready to pour out His Spirit upon you now.

The potential of the youth is not just about what you can do. It's about who you can become. It's about becoming a vessel for the Spirit of God. It's about becoming a voice for the truth of God. It's about becoming a vision of the love of God. This is not about your ability. It's about your availability. Are you willing to say, "Here I am, Lord. Use me"?

The potential of the youth is not limited by the world's standards. The world may say you're too young, too inexperienced, too naive. But God says, "You're just right." God doesn't look at your resume. He looks at your heart. He doesn't care about your qualifications. He cares about your willingness to say, "Not my will, but Yours be done."

The potential of the youth is not a promise for the faint of heart. It's a promise for the brave, for the bold, for those who are willing to step out in faith. It's a promise for those who are willing to dream dreams and see visions. It's a promise for those who are willing to prophesy, to speak the truth in love, to stand up for justice, to fight for the oppressed, to love the unlovable.

The potential of the youth is not a burden to be carried. It's a gift to be embraced. It's a calling to be pursued. It's a destiny to be fulfilled. It's an adventure to be lived. It's a story to be told. It's a song to be sung. It's a dance to be danced. It's a life to be lived to the fullest, for the glory of God.

The potential of the youth is not a solitary journey. It's a communal experience. It's about doing life together, growing together, learning together, serving together, laughing together, crying together, praying together, worshiping together. It's about being the body of Christ, each one playing a part, each one contributing to the whole.

The potential of the youth is not a one-size-fits-all proposition. It's a tailor-made calling. It's a unique blend of your gifts, your passions, your experiences, your personality, your dreams, your visions. It's about being who God created you to be, doing what God created you to do, going where God created you to go.
