Summary: Daniel emphasized the words ‘we have failed to understand YOUR truth!’

Your truth!

Daniel 9:13 “all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth.”

Daniel emphasized the words ‘we have failed to understand your truth!’ What is the truth? His truth is the Bible! Let me quote the words of Jesus and remove that veil and misunderstanding regarding fasting. There are many out there fasting and fighting, but let that not hinder you; Jesus said: ‘…when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, 18 so that you do not appear to men to be fasting, but to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.’ Jesus talks about fasting and He said your Father would reward openly! That’s lovely! Isn’t this scripture enough to goad and propel us to fast? Listen! I am not creating a ‘fasting chain’, I am just encouraging you guys to fast and pray so that He would take you to still waters and green pastures. Amen.

When I say homosexuals, adulterers, unrighteous people and wicked people would be thrown into hell, this does not mean I am heartless and harsh, it means that I love you much and care for you much, to point out the ‘danger and fire’ that awaits sinners. Many people live like half baked cakes today; look yummy and delicious on top but soggy and uncooked inside. If you have baked cakes, you would know what I am talking about!

I was asked to pray for a man who had been drinking continuously and had also locked himself up in his room refusing food. I had to travel that evening, but still I decided to visit him and pray for him. He did come out of his room, but instead of praying for him I started counseling him and he said, ‘stop it, I don’t want counseling, pray and leave me alone.’ I refused to budge. When I shared my testimony, he sat and listened, finally he opened up and spoke to me. I told him, ‘it is easy for me to blindly pray, give you holy oil and leave your home, but today I preach to save your soul from destruction.’

I repeat the same to each one of you, many of you on Monday morning would like to have a ‘promise word’ pop up on your computer and there are many who visit Christian websites and pick up the promise word for the day; this would not work, unless you follow His commandments. Isaiah 1:19”If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land.” Are you there? Grow up please!

We have not prayed enough, forgiven enough, read the Bible enough, yet we have the audacity to blame God for our miseries, read verse 13, “all this disaster has come upon us; yet we have not made our prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities and understand Your truth.” I know many, many Christians who are into adulterous relationships, swindling money, boozing, who have sat for several years and listened to my ‘strong preaching’ but have never made an effort to confess their sins, turn from their iniquities nor understand HIS truth. Observe the words, ‘YOUR’ truth! Today we live on our own terms rather than as per His Word. Jesus said: (Mathew 15:9)’They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.’

Isaiah 10:1"Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed.”

If we have to work on Sundays, we conveniently shun church, Bibles are carelessly thrown away in the shelves to gather dust, prayer is forgotten, we do not even know to spell the word ‘fasting’ and yet we dare to blame God for our failures. Can we humbly identify the sins in our own life and confess it to God please?
