VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. The FATHER said to the SON, "Your throne, O God, is forever and ever"

"But as to the Son, He says to Him, Your throne, O God, is forever and ever (to the ages of the ages),"

Psalms 45:6-7 (Amplified Bible)

45:6 Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; the scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom.

45:7 You love righteousness, uprightness, and right standing with God and hate wickedness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.

Psalms 45:6 (The Message)

45:6 "Your throne is God's throne, ever and always; The scepter of your royal rule measures right living.

Isaiah 7:14 (The Message)

7:14 So the Master is going to give you a sign anyway. Watch for this: A girl who is presently a virgin will get pregnant. She'll bear a son and name him Immanuel (God-With-Us).

Isaiah 9:6-7 (The Message)

9:6 For a child has been born—for us! the gift of a son—for us! He'll take over the running of the world. His names will be: Amazing Counselor, Strong God, Eternal Father, Prince of Wholeness.

9:7 His ruling authority will grow, and there'll be no limits to the wholeness he brings. He'll rule from the historic David throne over that promised kingdom. He'll put that kingdom on a firm footing and keep it going With fair dealing and right living, beginning now and lasting always. The zeal of God-of-the-Angel-Armies will do all this.

Isaiah 45:21-22 (The Message)

45:21 So tell me what you think. Look at the evidence. Put your heads together. Make your case. Who told you, and a long time ago, what's going on here? Who made sense of things for you? Wasn't I the one? God? It had to be me. I'm the only God there is— The only God who does things right and knows how to help.

45:22 So turn to me and be helped—saved!— everyone, whoever and wherever you are. I am God, the only God there is, the one and only.

A lot of instances in the Bible where the FATHER is calling out the SON, and addressing Him as GOD. It's their relationship, but we have one GOD.

B. The Scepter of Your Kingdom is Absolute Righteousness

"and the scepter of Your kingdom is a scepter of absolute righteousness (of justice and straightforwardness)."

Scepter represents:

1) a staff, a walking stick, a twig, rod, branch

2) a rod with which one is beaten

3) a staff

3a) as used on a journey, or to lean upon, or by shepherds

3b) when applied to kings

72:2 May he judge your people rightly, be honorable to your meek and lowly.

72:3 Let the mountains give exuberant witness; shape the hills with the contours of right living.

72:4 Please stand up for the poor, help the children of the needy, come down hard on the cruel tyrants.

Psalms 99:4 (The Message)

99:4 Strong King, lover of justice, You laid things out fair and square; You set down the foundations in Jacob, Foundation stones of just and right ways.
