You Need Something Eternal To Live For

Summary: What are you living for? If its anything other than Jesus you are wasting your life.
YOU NEED SOMETHING ETERNAL TO LIVE FOR!
Heb 12:2
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
There should be no element in your life that if taken from you should leave you hopeless. (If you are living for the Lord.) You have a reason for living.
Jesus is your reason for living.
Lets consider why.
1. John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
2. He saved your spouse and kids.
3. He is your care provider. ( health, comfort, needs, protector)
4. He has provided your future security.
5. You don’t have to pay the penalty for your sins. He did it for you.
Are you living for relationships? They change. Old friends drift away, new friends come into our lives and then leave again.
Some, when they go away leave our lives empty.
How about your job? There is no stability in any job.
How about material wealth?
Luke 12:15
15 And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
How about fleshly pleasure?
Gal 6:8
8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.
Jesus lived for eternal reasons. He lived for God His father.
Jesus lived for God even though he knew the bad things that other people would do to Him.
Jesus lived for God even though he knew what others ought to do.
Jesus lived for God knowing what he must do.
Jesus lived for God and he knew that now was the time to do it.
You need something eternal to live for and God has provided that in Jesus.
