VIII. MAIN BODY:
A. You ought to be teaching others.
"For even though by this time you ought to be teaching others,"
Matthew 17:17 (Amplified Bible)
17:17 And Jesus answered, O you unbelieving (warped, wayward, rebellious) and thoroughly perverse generation! How long am I to remain with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to Me.
Mark 9:19 (Amplified Bible)
9:19 And He answered them, O unbelieving generation [without any faith]! How long shall I [have to do] with you? How long am I to bear with you? Bring him to Me.
Those CHRISTians that are 21 years and older, still needed to be taught. I am a member of a church which has members like that, still they needed to be fetched from their house to the church, and can't even decide if they will go to church on Sundays or to the movie houses. Sounds familiar?
B. You actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of GOD's WORD
"you actually need someone to teach you over again the very first principles of God’s Word."
Isaiah 28:9-10 (Amplified Bible)
28:9 To whom will He teach knowledge? [Ask the drunkards.] And whom will He make to understand the message? Those who are babies, just weaned from the milk and taken from the breasts? [Is that what He thinks we are?]
28:10 For it is [His prophets repeating over and over]: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little.
Isaiah 28:13 (Amplified Bible)
28:13 Therefore the word of the Lord will be to them [merely monotonous repeatings of]: precept upon precept, precept upon precept, rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little—that they may go and fall backward, and be broken and snared and taken.
Philippians 3:1 (Amplified Bible)
3:1 FOR THE rest, my brethren, delight yourselves in the Lord and continue to rejoice that you are in Him. To keep writing to you [over and over] of the same things is not irksome to me, and it is [a precaution] for your safety.
Churches who have "mastered" teaching milk to their congregation because they don't want to be offended. Excuse me. Only babes are offended and mature ones continue even there's a hard teaching or strong meat being taught in the church, they "gulp" it, they grow because real nourishment is in the meat.
C. You need milk not solid food
"You have come to need milk, not solid food"
Hebrews 5:13 (Amplified Bible)
5:13 For everyone who continues to feed on milk is obviously inexperienced and unskilled in the doctrine of righteousness (of conformity to the divine will in purpose, thought, and action), for he is a mere infant [not able to talk yet]!
1 Corinthians 3:1-3 (Amplified Bible)
3:1 HOWEVER, BRETHREN, I could not talk to you as to spiritual [men], but as to nonspiritual [men of the flesh, in whom the carnal nature predominates], as to mere infants [in the new life] in Christ [unable to talk yet!]
3:2 I fed you with milk, not solid food, for you were not yet strong enough [to be ready for it]; but even yet you are not strong enough [to be ready for it],
3:3 For you are still [unspiritual, having the nature] of the flesh [under the control of ordinary impulses]. For as long as [there are] envying and jealousy and wrangling and factions among you, are you not unspiritual and of the flesh, behaving yourselves after a human standard and like mere (unchanged) men?
1 Peter 2:2 (Amplified Bible)
