YOU HAVE A SOUL

Get 4 kids to front. Turn off lights. Shine flashlights thru hands. You can see the bones inside the skin. “WE HAVE SOMETHING INSIDE!” We know this also because of Xrays and ultrasounds. But today I want to talk about something else we have inside: a SOUL & SPIRIT. HOW DO WE KNOW WE DO?

1. BIBLE SAYS SO. 1 Thess. 5:23; “23 Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ” NKJV. We have NON-MATERIAL PARTS – MIND, WILL, EMOTIONS. They’re not physical, but not totally spiritual either.

2. PHYSICS PhDs study of Quantum traces of the soul/spirit. Scientists say they have FOUND PROOF OF THE HUMAN SOUL (1-18-16).* In article, “Does the Soul Exist? Evidence Says ‘Yes’” (12-21-11). The results...suggest. that a part of the mind – the soul – is immortal and exists outside of time and space.” [Psychology Today]

a. Particle/Wave both exist, share same data in different fields.

b. Quantum mechanics (physics) laws apply to every realm (biological as well as chemical, etc.)

c. They found the central nervous system is “phase encoded,” its information exists in the brain and also as a consciousness. So that even if the body dies, the consciousness will continue to exist beyond the body/time.*

3. MEDICAL DOCTORS have recorded 10,000 cases where people who died in hospitals could, after resuscitation, tell the doctor what was going on around them while they were dead.

In the article, “Clinical Evidence That Life Continues After Physical Death” Mark Pitstick, says, “Scientific, clinical and firsthand experience evidence indicates that you survive after your earthly body dies.” The evidence has been gathered by medical doctors and clinical psychologists. Many people considered clinically dead have been aware of events occurring in the resuscitation room, adjacent areas, outside, and even on top of the hospital. Ten thousand evidentiary NDE cases have been documented. Particularly convincing are the NDEs reported by those who are BLIND. In Books of the Dead, Stan Grof M.D., “… reported cases where individuals, who were blind because of medically confirmed organic damage to their optical system, could at the time of clinical death, see the environment. These....are more than the hallucinatory....”

In Maurice Rawling’s “To Hell & Back,” he confirmed the following common experiences of NDEs:

a. LIFE REVIEW. Experienced a searching review of the morality of their lives actions and the impact those actions had on others.

b. EXPOSURE TO LIGHT. When they came before the "Figure of Light," his presence alone exposed/ made clear what was right & wrong about their lives.

c. ACCOUNTABILITY. Each person felt responsible for their actions; and the subjects universally felt regret and remorse for the wrongs they’d done.

d. 20% of adults perceived a threat of eternal punishment for their wrongs. Being sent back, their final destiny was pushed back to some future time. Almost all of them had a transformation of their lives.

IMPLICATIONS: Science and Medicine now confirm the Bible!

1. You WILL live beyond this life (and death), forever.

2. You WILL answer to God for how you act/think, and how you live your life.

3. Jesus said in Mt. 16:26 (Mk. 8:36), “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

IT MATTERS WHAT YOU SAY, DO, AND THINK, EVEN IF THERE’S NO ONE AROUND. Because God is watching you! The best idea is to live in such a way as to please God.

PASCAL’S WAGER (1623-1662):

“If you live like God exists, and it turns out that He doesn’t exist, you’ll just suffer a small amount of loss (a few illicit pleasures over your 70 years). But if you live like God doesn’t exist –and you’re wrong and He DOES EXIST, then you will suffer an infinite loss for all eternity." CONCLUSION? It’s better to wager that God does exist, because the losses are so disproportional.

EXPIRATION DATES (freshness). Almost everything has them because not many things can last indefinitely.

YOU HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE. You may be young, but you don’t know how long you’ll live. I’ve buried babies, children, teenagers, and young adults.

Hebrews 9:27 says, “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”

This verse tells us we get one chance, one lifetime, to be saved. If we don’t say yes to Jesus, no other chance is promised us. WE NEED TO MAKE SURE TO SAY YES TO JESUS WHILE WE STILL CAN.
