Summary: Have you ever asked yourself, "Can I make a difference in the world"? This sermon is to encourage you that YES, I CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD

You can make a difference in your world.

Your world consist of your home, place of employment, where you children attend school.

Your world consist of your neighbors, where you shop, the friends and family you have.

You can make a difference in your world.

You have to decide I am going to make a difference in my world.

To help you do that, today I have four thoughts I want to share with you.

I. GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR YOU.

God’s thoughts for your life are thoughts of purpose. He has a purpose for everything that is going on in your life.

Here is what he said to the captives in Jeremiah’s day...

Jer 29:11

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

(KJV)

a. Don’t just squander your life away.

There is more to life than just squandering it away.

b. Find out God’s purpose.

c. Everyone’s life can be summed up in one word.

What word will sum up your life?

II. GOD PLACED YOU IN THIS TIME OF HISTORY.

a. God has place me in these days. Days I believe that are the last days.

Had I been alive in the days of DL Moody, I might have been a Baptist.

John Wesley, a Methodist

George Whitfield, a Presbyterian

b. I believe God place me here in this time on purpose and

God has placed you here in this time on purpose.

Why? Because Jesus Christ is soon to return and He knew that he could trust you to carry His message throughout your world in this time.

c. Don’t think "I wish I were alive then", then is not what God has for you, what God has for you is NOW.

God has a purpose for you and he has placed you here for that purpose.

III. GOD HAS A DEFINNING MOMENT FOR YOU

A time in which you will have an opportunity to do something great.

I believe that everyone here will have the opportunity to do something that will change the world.

It might be something you say, some encouragement that you give someone.

Michael Jordan, his mother...little did she know that there was a champion in her house...

The lad with five loaves and two fishes...what if he stayed home that day.

Some will miss there defining moment because the will stay home. Or they will miss there defining moment because they will hold on to there loaves and fishes instead of placing them in the hands of the Lord allowing him to bless it and break it ministering to the needs of others.

Some will miss the defining moment because of FEAR. The Lord is calling for you to step out on to the water and walk with him, but you don’t see it possible, so you stay in the boat and you defining moment passes you by.

When I think of defining moments I think of ...

IV. YOU WONT KNOW YOUR DEFINING MOMENT UNTIL IT HAS PASSED.
