Summary: You need to see how you stand with to Lord.

YOU CAIN’T SEE IT

1Corinthians 15: 19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

20 But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept.

21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.

22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

This is our worst enemy. If we could see it as it sneaks into the sick room.

Stands in the curve of the road.

Comes at us in disguise squeezing life out of us.

A lost person would cry “get away”I’am not ready for you.

(1) Cause of death.

Romans 6: 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Disobedience to God’s word.

Numbers 16: 29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD hath not sent me.

Dealing with the cause of sin.

Psalms 13: 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Divine decree of almighty God.

1st John 5: 16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

(2) The call of death.

Job 14: 14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

15 Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.

Young old poor rich when he calls your name.

No respecter of persons God has and appointed time

No recourse; family, friends, finance cannot stay this appointment.

(3) The challenge of death.

Philippians 1: 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

You give God glory in life.

He will get glory in your death.

You can be replaced. This world can go on without you.

(4) The change of death.

Job 14: 14 If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.

Philippians 3: 21 Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

We are for give our sins all of them.

We will be fashioned like our Saviour.

We shall be grateful for our Salvation.

(5) Closeness of family at death.

1st Kings 2: 1 Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,

2 I go the way of all the earth: be thou strong therefore, and shew thyself a man;

3 And keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and his testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself:

4 That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

Family circle brought together in humility.

Friends gather to offer help.

Last efforts to heal the hurt.

(6) The certainty of death.

Hebrews 9: 27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Appointment can not be cancelled.

Alternative is not a choice

Afterwards cannot be changed.

(7) Correction needs to be made while you live.

John 5: 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

You need to stop look and listen to the word.

Look now to Christ for forgiveness.

Must be saved by grace.
