Yes, There Is Shacking Up In The Corinthian Church

Summary: The Corinthian Church claims spirituality when there is shacking up in the church; the 2011 church makes the same claim.
It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not found even among pagans; for a man is living with his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Should you not rather have mourned, so that he who has done this would have been removed from among you? For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present I have already pronounced judgment in the name of the Lord Jesus on the man who has done such a thing. When you are assembled, and my spirit is present with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to hand this man over to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.
The church at Corinth is something other than they claim. Everybody is Corinth is talking about the happening in the church. And what is happening is not all good, and Christ-like. No, what’s happening in the church at Corinth is not even happening in the world. Paul hears there is fornication in the church between a man and his father’s wife. What troubles Paul is the church response to a man in the church living with his father’s wife is acceptance. Paul can’t understand how the Corinth church claims superior spirituality when a man is the church lives with his father’s wife. He tells them they should be mourning shacking, rather than claiming superior spirituality. The church should demonstrate sorrow and shame because a man is living with his father’s wife, not superior spirituality. If the church mourns evil the church puts out the man who shacks with his father’s wife.
Paul is trouble because of this fornication and writes to the church that even though he is not present with them he knows exactly what to do. The church must call a business meeting, knowing the power of the Lord Jesus Christ is present in the meeting, as well as his spirit. In this meeting the man shacking with his father’s wife must suffer punishment for his evil shacking. His punishment is separation from the church: “Put him out!” When the church puts the man out they at the same time put him into the hands of Satan. The church must put the man into the hands of Satan for the destruction of his flesh. When Satan get though with his flesh the man turn to the church with spirituality that saves his soul when the Lord Jesus Christ returns.
Yes, today we have churches with members shacking up, claiming superior spirituality. Paul is still speaking can you hear him? “Stop claiming superior spirituality when there is shacking in the church. The 2011 church must put out those shacking up, so they turn from the flesh to the spirit, and see the Lord Jesus Christ when he returns.
