Yes, Word of God is living!

Hebrews 4:12 “For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”(Memorize)

I have watched devils tremble when I take the Bible close to them! Yes, the Word of God is living and active! The Bible is not just a compilation of books and epistles but they are the Words of the Living God! Living and active! Believe it! Friend, what I am going to write to you today are not points to explain the power of His Word but my own testimony.

The book of Mathew just captivated me and jolted me I should say, the mount sermon found in chapter five gave me a clear picture of who my God is! Passion for the Bible started from the emergency ward where I was admitted with serious problems in my uterus. I remember the doctor telling me ”there is no hope at all for you and your baby, the best decision is to abort the baby, remove the uterus and take bed rest for 6 months; in the given situation, my job also was in jeopardy - in other words the situation was ‘burial’ for me without a ray of hope! It was now that I started reading the Bible!

Faith got pumped into my bones and I felt hopeless no more! Friend, when faith remains as words in the Bible, it makes no sense, believe and start exercising it! Are you hearing me? Take and use it! The Bible says ‘without faith you cannot please God.” The thought that I was not struggling alone any more but I have a Heavenly Dad to whom I can talk to just relieved me from all fear! Fear of losing my baby, fear of losing my job, fear of the uncertainty that lurked over me…..vanished! Zoom…..it was no more there! My folks at home were surprised and intrigued with the new look of joy on my face – despite the situation not changed: the pain, the danger and the uncertainty remained. In the midst of the storm, you can break into a jig with Jesus! This is what you call as peace that transcends all understanding! God healed me miraculously which eventually made me His servant to serve Him in the mission field! Amen. The healing came through not medicines or super treatment but through faith in Super Jesus and His Words! Yes, the Word of God is living and active!

Someone had hurt me and I was wallowing in self- pity! I closed the door and I was asking God to put sense into that person who treated me ruthlessly and I was sobbing for long over this matter, suddenly a scripture swiftly popped to my mind ,” But if anyone slaps you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.” (Mathew 5:40) I shudder as I type this today! His standards are exemplary! I felt bad over my silly attitude and now my prayer changed, I said, ‘Lord, please change me and make me humble and more like you!’ A single scripture was like a dynamic bomb that brought massive changes in me; it would tear and expose the muck in you! Yes, the Word of God is living and active! His Words stayed with me, like a splinter in my mind! Nothing can erase it! As I kept reading the Bible, changes started happening! Yes, the Word of God is living and active!

After I resigned and walked out of the plush office to join my Lord in His services, there were terrible times of loneliness, nothingness, rejection, emptiness, pain and sorrow – His Word has picked me up each time I stumbled and fell – Yes, the Word of God is living and active!

Let’s stop being mediocre and step forward to become unique and exceptional Christians!
