Youth Sermon: Worth it's Weight in Gold

Introduction

Today, we're we're going to be talking about the value of God's wisdom. Let's jump into Psalm 19:9-11, where King David talks about how valuable Godly wisdom and guidance are.

David is saying that respecting God and following His teachings is super important. Respect is something we usually give to celebrities, but our respect for God should be way bigger. God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to hang out with us, and choosing to worship Him is the best choice we can make.

The Value of God's Wisdom

The world tries to get us to worship fake idols, but only God offers the real deal. There are knock-off versions of everything God offers, but they can't compare to the real thing. The truth is found in God's word, and it gives us wisdom and guidance. But a lot of people don't like the truth because it points out their mistakes. We have to decide whether to change based on God's truth or ignore it.

God's truth might point out our mistakes, but it's the best thing for us. It frees us from the trap of doing wrong. David says that God's truth is better than gold. It's a huge reward to live by the truth and obey God. This reward isn't just for later, but for right now. Jesus came to give us a great life now, not just eternal life later.

Challenge and Conclusion

We can have a great life by respecting God, looking for wisdom in His word, and following His guidance. Today, I want to challenge you to take a step of faith. It could be accepting Jesus as your personal Savior, realizing you've been chasing after fake gods, or just opening God's word. Trust that God is worth everything you give Him.

Imagine you're on a treasure hunt. You find a chest full of shiny gold coins. You're ecstatic! But then you realize, it's all fool's gold. It looks like the real deal, but it's worthless. That's what the world's wisdom is like. It might look good, but it's not worth anything. God's wisdom, on the other hand, is like real gold. It's valuable and worth seeking.

This week, try to spend some time each day reading God's word and asking Him for wisdom. See how it changes your perspective and decisions.
