Sermons

Summary: The sermons that I have listed are 30 to 40 minute sermons. I have only listed the points and a couple of comments under each point of each sermon to give the preacher a remembrance which the Holy Spirit can lead on and speak through the man of God.

Sunday Morning Manna

Mark 6:31 Then Jesus said, "Let's go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile." He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and his apostles didn't even have time to eat. Full Context Mark 6:31=41

Jesus the master of the universe and the creator of it and everything in it knows our needs better than we know ourselves. There are times when my car will break down and will need to be fixed. When this happens I can take it to a shade tree mechanic who might fix the problem, or I can pay a little more to the dealer who made the car, who design the car, and knows the specs of the car, who will fix the problem and fix what caused the problem. God in the same way knows our bodies, He knows how we are built, He knows how your mind works, and He knows better than you, as to what your body needs and oftentimes it is rest.

1. Hard Work deserves rest (Mark 6:31).

First, when we are working in the ministry and like some of us who also have full-time jobs, it can be hectic and demanding from both, the job and the ministry, and there is a time when we need to rest. To those who have retired, the Bible has no such word. The ministry that you are in may have expired because of time or your age, but when one expires God will have another ministry waiting on you so you will be more effective in working for the kingdom.

2. We are here to serve Mark 6:32-34).

Second, we must understand that we are here to serve, like Jesus He said He came to serve and not be served (Mark 10:45). If you have a problem with this, then maybe you need some quite time with Jesus the Master surgeon because you have some heart problems.

3. We see all sorts of issues

Third, you will see all sorts of issues that people are dealing with in their lives. We must keep in mind that the main issue is sin, sin comes in many different names, but in God’s eyes sin is still sin. We need to keep in mind that we are in a spiritual warfare, “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds” (2nd Cor.10:14, Eph. 6:12). The spiritual see the war going on, but the non-spiritual are blind to this war. When we walk in knowledge of this issue we can love the sinner even more, while understanding what the root causes of the sinner’s problem is, sin.

4. Staying steadfast leaning in the arms of Jesus

Fourth, we who are Christians need to understand where our help comes from; our help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2). As a servant of Jesus Christ I need to understand that I am privileged to be able to be like the mule that carried Jesus into Jerusalem. I get to carry the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost, hurting, lonely, rejected, and dark world. It is important and vital that "You can talk the talk, but you walk the walk" we can’t expect others to do right when we are not doing right. Remember it is all about Jesus, and His power to change a person’s life, all I am is a servant of the Lord. The Gospel will either drive them away, or it will draw them close, and that is in the hands of the Holy Spirit of God. When we do our part, the Holy Spirit will do His part, don’t put pressure on you, the Holy Spirit can handle all the pressure the Devil can produce. Remember, we share because we care, please share this with your friends that may need to hear this timely message. May the Lord's peace be with you my friends!
