“Wonder Woman” Esther 7:1-10
• Haman was appointed the principal minister of the king Ahasuerus, all of the king's servants were required to bow down to Haman, but Mordechai refused to. Angered by this, and knowing of Mordechai's Jewish nationality, Haman convinced Ahasuerus to allow him to have all of the Jews in the Persian empire killed.[7]
• Esther invited Haman and the king to two banquets. In the second banquet, she informed the king that Haman was plotting to kill her (and the other Jews). This enraged the king, who was further angered when (after leaving the room briefly and returning) he discovered Haman had fallen on Esther's couch, intending to beg mercy from Esther, but which the king interpreted as a sexual advance.[8]
• On the king's orders, Haman was hanged from the 50-cubit-high gallows that had originally been built by Haman himself,
1. Esther one might say is a Super Woman, a amazing woman, a brave woman, a faithful woman, wonder woman, or a Godly woman.
• Esther is a wonder woman type character who singly saved the Jewish nation
• Esther is like wonder woman who had super weapons. Her arsenal of superpowers includes the Lasso of Truth, magic bracelets that can deflect objects including bullets, and a royal tiara that becomes a lethal projectile when needed.
• Esther had super powers as well Her name Esther is a Persian word which means star.
• The Star was Caring, That Star was Courageous, Prayerful, wisdom
2. Esther was a caring woman who was concerned when Mordecai distress. 4:4
• Esther’s cousin Mordecai was weeping in sackcloth at the king’s gate, and she was troubled.
• She sent him garments for him to wear since she heard that he was wearing sackcloth. This reflects her caring nature toward others.
• She wanted to know how she could be of help to Mordecai and alleviate his suffering.
3. Ester had another super power she had courage
• Mordecai sent a message to Esther and told her that her people were about to be annihilated at the command of Haman. He wanted her to go to the king and plead their case.
• Esther was reluctant at first because she knew that it was unlawful to approach the king without an invitation. It could mean death for anyone who tried.
• Esther courageously approached the king and he extended the gold scepter to her. She had made up her mind that if she perishes for breaking the law and approaching the king, so be it. We to can face difficult situations for God is always with us
• We need courage to do the work of the Lord, and we have to rise up and take a stand even when we face the threat of unpleasant consequences. God has commanded us in Joshua 1:9 to be strong and courageous and not give in to fear.
4. Esther super Power was Prayer Being Prayerful
• 15Then Esther sent this reply to Mordecai: 16"Go, gather together all the Jews who are in Susa, and fast for me. Do not eat or drink for three days, night or day. I and my maids will fast as you do. When this is done, I will go to the king, even though it is against the law. And if I perish, I perish.
• Esther understood the Power of prayer she sought Gods help, she called for the Jews, and maids to pray,
• Esther believed, God is able to turn situations around and deliver from those who seek our downfall.
5. Another super Power we can call on to help us is Wisdom
• Queen Esther answered, "If I have found favor with you, O king, and if it pleases your majesty, grant me my life--this is my petition. And spare my people-- 4For I and my people have been sold for destruction If we had merely been sold as male and female slaves, I would have kept quiet, because no such distress would justify disturbing the king.A" 5King Xerxes asked Queen Esther, "Who is he? Where is the man who has dared to do such a thing?" 6Esther said, "The adversary and enemy is this vile Haman."
• Esther Knew she needed Divine Intervention she told the King about what Haman wanted to do
• She asked the king to come for a banquet she had prepared for him and Haman, and she would let him know what was on her mind then.
• The next day, at the banquet she informed the king that Haman wanted to kill all Jews an her 7The king got up in a rage,. But Haman, beg Queen Esther for his life. they covered Haman's face. 9Then Harbona, one of the eunuchs attending the king, said, "A gallows seventy-five feetB high stands by Haman's house. He had it made for Mordecai, who spoke up to help the king."
