INTRODUCTION: With out love we are nothing. without love a home, a community, a church, and a country is really nothing. we must remember when we call ourselves christians that christianity is the religion of love. If a home or church seeks recgonition

and praise from god they must be a family of love. One of the supreme tests of a christian faith is an attitude of genuine love toward other christians and active goodwill toward all people for Christs sake.

Without love the church does not functions in its proper manner. (witness)

Without love the church remains in outer darkness.

Without love the church cannot please God.

Without love the church testimony is no more than words falling from the lips.

Love my brothers and sister is a moral duty to the people of God because it is the very essence of God’s nature.

what does love do?

lOVE BETWEEN CHRISTIANS DEVELOPS RELATIONSHIPS.

Relationships leads to Fellowship, because they are members of the Family of God. Therefore a church family without the foundation of love has no part of God or fellowship with Jesus Christ.

Love is the only excellent way for the family.the church family AND for neighbors to help one another and create bonds of friendships.

WITHOUT LOVE WE ARE NOTHING

Love is the excellent way to break down barriers between races and nations.

EXPOSITION:

the text: Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels and have not charity I am become as sounding brass or a thinkling cymbal.(my speech and my good saying are nothing without love)

Paul explains to the church at Corinth that a person may have eloquent speech, tongues of angels, but WITHOUT LOVE it would be like noise in pagan worship.

It would be meaningless:nothing: without value and without substance.

LOVE IS THE FIRST OUTGOING OF THE RENEWED SOUL TO GOD. WE LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE FIRST LOVED US.

LOVE KIES AT THE VERY FOUNDATION OF CHRISTIAN CHARACTER. WE MUST BE ROOTED AND GROUNDED IN LOVE.

IT IS THE PATH IN WHICH ALL THE CHILDREN OF GOD ARE FOUND,

LOVE IS OUR SPIRITUAL PROTECTION IN THE WARFARE, WE ARE TOLD TO PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF LOVE.

Verse 3 tells us through we can bestow all of our goods to feed the poor and give our bodies to be burned and have not love, it will profit us nothing. So now we can stop bragging about what we do to help some one else.

Verse 4-7Love suffers Long= Having patience with imperfect people.

LOVE SUFFERS FOR THE SAKE OF OTHERS

LOVE IS KIND ACTIVE IN DOING GOOD.

LOVE DOES NOT ENVY: SINCE IT IS NONPOSSESSIVE AND NONCOMPETITIVE

LOVE ACTUALLY WANTS OTHER PEOPLE TO GET AHEAD.

LOVE DOES NOT PARADE ITSELF.

LOVE IS NOT PUFFED UP: TREATING OTHERS ARROGANTLY, IT DOES NOT BEHAVE RUDELY, BUT DISPLAYS GOOD MANNERS AND COURTESY.

LOVE does not provoke it is not irritable of touchy, rough or hostile, but is graceful under pressure.

LOVE think no evil: it does not keep an account of wrongs done to it. instead it erases resentments.

LOVE does not rejoice in inquity: finding satisfaction in the short coming of others and spreading an evil report:rather it rejoices in the truth.

LOVE bears all things; defending and holding other people up.

LOVE believes the best about others, credits them with good intentions, and is not suspicious.

LOVE hopes all things; never giving up on people, but affiriming their future.

LOVE endures all things; persevering and remaining loyal to the end.

Verse 8 LOVE never fails.
