By William Akehurst, HSWC

Prayer Requests:

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.

Isaiah 60:1

Wake up Christian. Come out of your sleep. You have been redeemed from darkness into light. Rise Up, Reflect and Shine, for the LORD has shown upon you, has come upon your heart.

Do not sleep, do not slumber. Get up and shine. Get up and do something for the LORD. Get up, Get up, Get up and Shine, Shine, Shine.

With All your Heart

What is the HEART?

It is a symbol of love.

It provides life.

It is a muscle that pumps the blood through the body.

The blood brings life, but without the heart pumping, beating, the blood can not get to the vital areas of the body. With the HEART, the blood flows.

Without the flow of the blood, there is no life.

So without the full commission of the HEART to the blood, there would be no life.

We can’t live if we don’t have aheart. We can’t live with a piece of the heart.

In order to have life...eternal...our heart must beat for HIM.

We know that it is the blood that flows. If we have Jesus in our Heart, then we have His lifeblood running through our spiritual veins.

1 Samuel 16:7 tells us that the LORD looks on the heart.

Psalm 86:11-12

11 Teach me your way, O LORD,

and I will walk in your truth;

give me an undivided heart,

that I may fear your name.

12 I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart;

I will glorify your name forever.

We need an UNDIVIDED heart toward the LORD. We must give HIM our WHOLE heart.

This is why the bible says we are to give God our whole heart.

ASIDE: I had received a book called Masters Sermon Outlines from a dear departed cousin, Clarence, and as I was preparing this message, I happened across these verses from which provided me with great insight. With all your heart.

Seek the Lord

Deut 4:29

29 But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

Love the Lord

Deut 13:3

3Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

Obey the Lord

Deut 30:2

2And shalt return unto the LORD thy God, and shalt obey his voice according to all that I command thee this day, thou and thy children, with all thine heart, and with all thy soul;

Turn unto the Lord

Deut 30:10

10If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.

Serve the Lord

Deut 10:12

12And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,

Walk before the Lord

1 Kings 2:4

4That the LORD may continue his word which he spake concerning me, saying, If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee (said he) a man on the throne of Israel.

Follow the Lord (as David did)

1 Kings 14:8

8And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

Praise the Lord

Psalm 86:12

I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify thy name for evermore.

Trust the Lord

Prov 3:5

5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

We must give our whole heart to the LORD

And in order to do so, we must take into our heart the LORD JESUS CHRIST.

This is why the bible says that we are to have Christ in our heart

Paul says to the Ephesians, and This is my prayer for you!

Specifically vs. 17 and 19 That Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And know the love of Christ...that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
