Summary: "Why were the former days better than these?" You do not move ahead by constantly looking in a rear view mirror. The past is a rudder to guide you, not an anchor to drag you. We must learn from the past but not live in the past

WINNING THE PRIZE!

Philippians 3:13-14 (KJV) Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

I. We are not there yet. We are running in a race.

A. Paul said he did one thing and was to forget the past and press toward prize.

B. Do not say, "Why were the former days better than these?" You do not move ahead by constantly looking in a rear view mirror. The past is a rudder to guide you, not an anchor to drag you. We must learn from the past but not live in the past.

II. We are not without direction.

A. We are following the Light of the world. JESUS.

B. The Holy Spirit stands at every crossroad of our lives pointing the way giving us direction.

III. THE PRIZE is the High Calling.

A. Children of God, Peace and Joy all along the way from earth to Glory and then to hear those works, “Well done good and faithful servant.”

B. Can we lose? No, we cannot lose for winning, cannot go under for going over and cannot be defeated for He is our Victory!

C. Remember, know this is why a car's WINDSHIELD is so large & the rear view mirror is so small? Because our PAST is not as important as our FUTURE. So, look ahead and move on in Jesus Name.

PRAISE GOD FOREVER!
