Summary: Will you serve God his way or try to serve him your way?

1 Kings 12:1-4 And Rehoboam went to Shechem: for all Israel were come to Shechem to make him king. And it came to pass, when Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who was yet in Eygypt, heard of it,(for he was fled from the presence of king Solomon, and Jeroboam dwelt in Egypt;) That they sent and called him. And Jeroboam and all the congreation of Israel came, and spake unto Rehoboam, saying, Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the griebous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put on us, lighter, and we will serve thee.

In other words, do things our way and we will serve you.

How many times have we said that to God?

How many times have we said, Lord, get me out of this mess and I will serve you?

Lord, save my child and I will serve you.

I can hear the conversation now, Lord, just overlook my sins and we will get along just fine. Never mind that I don’t read your word and seldom obey. Just do things my way and we will be okay.

Lord, I know your word says it is a sin to be drunk, but I will only get a little drunk, just look the other way.

Lord, I know your word says it is a sin to commit adultry, but I will only sleep with her one time, Just look the other way, it’s no big deal.

Jesus Christ says in John 14:15 If you love me, keep my commandments.

John 13:15 says for I have given you an example that ye should do as I have done to you.

Luke 6:40 says The disciple is not above his master, but everyone that is perfect shall be as his master.

We are not above Jesus, even though we act like it sometimes

Galatians 5:13 says For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty, only use not liberty for an occasion of the flesh, but by love serve one another.

It seems some claim to be Christians with their mouth, but their heart is far from God. They serve God and others in show only. This is a spot in our feast, meaning, the church, becuase of strange doctrines being taught. They have used this liberty as an occasion of the flesh. There are very few Churches that mention the wrath of God. This is something that we must never overlook or take lightly. Obedience brings the blessings of Deut. 28:1-14.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, blessed shall thou be in the field

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store

Blessed shall be your coming in and your going out

The Lord shall cause the enemies that rise up against you to be smitten before your face, they shall come against you one way and flee before you seven ways

The lord shall make you the head and not the tail

You shall be above and not below and you shall lend and not borrow

Disobedience brings the curse of Deut. 28:15-68. All the blessings you would have recieved for obeying Gods voice will be turned into a curse and then some. The word of God says it is obedience is better than sacrifice. There are a lot of people that think you cannot lose your salvation, and they live their lives in sin. Jesus says in Rev. 22:18 if you add anything to the prophecy of the Bible, he will add unto you the plagues of this book, and if you take away from the prophecy of the Bible he will take away your part of the Book of Life, and out of the Holy City, and from the things that are written in this book. Jesus also says in Rev. 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the Book of Life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. To get your part taken away from the Book of Life or to have your name blotted out of the Book of Life it had to be written there in the first place. How do you get your name written there? You have to confess your sin to Jesus Christ, repent, and live a life that is centered on Jesus Christ. If you are saved and then some day have unrepented sin in your life, God will deal with you and if you continue to let it go, your name will be blotted out. This means you have lost your salvation. They teach, God won’t send me to hell, he loves me to much. God does love you , but you send yourself to hell, God only honors your wishes!!!!

If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, please do so today. Today is the day of salvation. Seek him while he can be found. May God bless and keep you.
