WHY WE MUST BE MADE HOLY

Matthew 5: 8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Christ died to make us Holy.

John 19: 30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

1. The meaning of Holiness.

Holiness is in the heart.

Holiness is in the mind.

1st Thess. 5: 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

(1) Holiness is when we are in God will.

1st Cor.1: 26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

29 That no flesh should glory in his presence.

30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Holiness is in the soul, spirit ,thought .

(2) There are four steps God uses to make us Holy.

Regeneration God makes us alive.

Justification God makes us right

Sanctification God makes us Holy

Glorification God makes us beautiful

(3) Gods means in making us Holy.

The blood.

Jer.7: 23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.

The Holy Spirit.

2nd Thess.2: 13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Faith in Christ.

Hebrews 12: 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Repentance

Obedience.

(3) There is a reason we must be made Holy

Because God in Holy.

Because Christ was Holy

Because angels are Holy.

Because Heaven is Heaven.

Rev.15: 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.
