WHY SHOULD WE BE THANKFUL

Psalm 100

Ps 95:2 Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto him with psalms.

Psalms 106:1 Praise ye the LORD. O give thanks unto the LORD; for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

1 Chr 29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank thee, and praise thy glorious name.

Phil 4:6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and

supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

1. JESUS SET THE EXAMPLE FOR US IN GIVING THANKS.

Matt 11:25 At that time Jesus answered and said, I thank thee, O Father,

Lord of heaven and earth, because…

Matt 26:27 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them,

saying, drink ye all of it;

John 11:41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me.

2. VARIOUS BEINGS GIVE THANKS TO GOD ALSO.

Rev 4:9 And when those beasts give glory and honour and thanks to him that sat on the throne, who liveth for ever and ever,

Rev 7:11-12 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about

the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

Rev 11:16-17 16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on

their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God, 17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned.

3. WE ARE TO GIVE THANKS TO GOD.

Psa 50:14 Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

Heb 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.

1Thess 5:18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

The Bible says if we don’t praise the Lord, the very rocks would cry out!

So, let’s have some testimonies…what are you thankful for?
