Why Should A Christian Vote?

Summary: Every Christian needs to vote, it is our civic duty!
Joshua 6
1-Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.
2-And the LORD said to Joshua: “See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.
3-“You shall march around the city, all you men of war; you shall go all around the city once. This you shall do six days.
4-“And seven priests shall bear seven trumpets of rams’ horns before the ark. But the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, and the priests shall blow the trumpets.
5-“It shall come to pass, when they make a long blast with the ram’s horn, and when you hear the sound of the trumpet, that all the people shall shout with a great shout; then the wall of the city will fall down flat. And the people shall go up every man straight before him.”
15-But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times.
16-And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: “Shout, for the LORD has given you the city!
20-So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.
Why was it so important for the walls of Jericho fall because they were standing in the way of God's plan for God's people.
Also the purpose of the walls falling in Jericho was to show God's people what could be accomplished when they trusted God.
Why should a Christian vote?
Because God can do anything He wants!
He can accomplish anything He desires!
He can calm the seas!
He can raise the dead!
He can make the blind to see!
He can make the lame to walk!
He can even make time stand still!
But the one thing that He will not do, is to do what we are supposed to do!
God will put into place the ones He wants to be in power, to accomplish what He wants, either to bless America (2 Chronicles 7:14-If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.) or punish America!
(John 19:9-and went again into the Praetorium, and said to Jesus, “Where are You from?” But Jesus gave him no answer.
10-Then Pilate said to Him, “Are You not speaking to me? Do You not know that I have power to crucify You, and power to release You?”
11-Jesus answered, “You could have no power at all against Me unless it had been given you from above. Therefore the one who delivered Me to you has the greater sin.”)
Throughout history God has used good men and bad men in places of authority to either bless his people or punish God's people because of the wickedness.
Because we do not know what God has in store for us in the next four years.
Whether it will be that we as nation or at least as us Christians repent and turn to Him fully and He blesses us or He sends punishment because we have not repented as a nation or as Christians for all the wickedness that has grown in our nation!
Our job, our duty, our responsibility is to pray for our nation, pray for wisdom to chose the right people, people who stand against those things that are opposite of the things that are taught in God's Word!
And those principles that were established in our constitution
Those who opposed religious freedom those who opposed the freedom to bear arms those who want to change everything that our forefathers stood for and believed.
Every Christian needs to vote, it is our civic duty!
Many of the laws that are established in our life time will effect our children and our grandchildren!
As every Israelite had to shout for the walls to fall, every voice mattered!
No one could be silent for the walls to fall!
Our vote, our voice makes a difference!
We have too in the best of our ability choose men and women who are going lead our country, our nation into becoming a nation that follows God, honors God, worships God!
If us Christians continue to be silent and not let our voices be heard, we will be living in a new version of Sodom and Gomorrah, it will become the new normal!
