Sharing on Church, WHY GO TO CHURCH?—

There is a purpose

Church has become an end—instead of a means to an end

Difference between between GATHERING or ASSEMBLING

Most people don’t know why they go to church?

The reasons they have, aren’t right

FIX- Addict---Feel Good, Need To,

---Look to church to fill a void

Church is not the end ---It the means to an end----The end is the Kingdom of God

If this is about PLAYING CHURCH--I’m outta here

I don’t get it all, but what I get----

I want to share on what the Church is

Provoking to LOVE and GOOD WORKS----

Not enough of either

Learn to love people----

Don’t forsake the Assembling----

Forsake Gathering, NOT ASSEMBLING

BUY SOMETHING IN STORE---Some assembly required

All it takes to make it work---Must assemble it----

Gathering it in a pile, IS NOT ASSEMBLING

God’s trying to assemble us SO WE LOOK LIKE HIM

5 Basic things the Bible says about Church

1.Being equipped for the work of the ministry-----Ephesians 4: 11-13

Our Goal is grow so we can all do work of ministry

Churches are paying preacher for him to do everything-----HIS JOB IS TO EQUIP

“how do we handle this BRO SHANE”----

I’m equipping YOU so YOU can handle it

If you come here---not wanting to be equipped----wrong Church

Good music, Good preaching, friendly, Childrens Min. ----Are you being equipped

90 out of 100 churches---Are just Giant Nurseries----THEY WONT LISTEN AND BE EQUIPPED

They’ll sit and critique the preacher---Discuss what he said---How he’s wrong

That proves they’re immature----

Or they’d shut up, listen, and BE EQUIPPED for the KINGDOM

Equipping---How to renew/mind, overcome strongholds, identity, freedom, Glory of The NEW COVENANT

Matt 16---Give us the keys to the KINGDOM---

KEYS.....UNLOCK SOMETHING

2.Celebrating the Resurrection—John 11:20-27

Not Easter-----JESUS

We have bloodless sacrifices---

WE WANT TO OFFER THEM UP

When we sing praises, SATAN AND HIS ARMY ARE MISERABLE

But if you’re not celebrating----Satan isn’t bothered----HE IS...When it becomes a sacrifice

You can do it on your own....BUT WHEN THE KIDS ARE ASSEMBLED

3.To come under Spiritual Authority---Hebrews 13:17-18

We need Spiritual Authority---A covering----

Aligning yourself and submitting to a pastor

There’s a movement-----People don’t need Authority----

Someone’s gotta give an account-----YOU----

Or you can submit to and come under authority

Centurion SOLDIER----- Matthew 8:5-13

A lot of Christians want to exercise Authority,

FEW WANT TO BE UNDER AUTHORITY

Isaiah 9:6-7----God’s Got a Government, and if you CANT Submit to someone, YOU”VE MISSED IT

4. Raising up Sons and Daughters - 1 Cor 4:15-17

Pastors have turned into Hirelings -----

When they SUCEED... THEY MOVE ON TO Another church

If they have a great track record----

MAKES THEM MORE DESIRABLE TO OTHER CHURCHES

Churches have turned Pastors into hirelings----

Get successful they’ll get mad

Or if they’re not growing---They’ll fire them---Even though they might be truly raising people up

Moses and Joshua

We are not living for the moment----

THIS WORK NEEDS TO GO ON FOREVER

5.We are being a Hospital for the hurting----Isaiah 42:1-4

It’s an honor to pastor a church with such a wide array of people….LIST

People should find help in the church and not JUDGING----IN THE BAR SOMEONE WILL SYMPATHIZE

Bruised reed – Carve to make instrument---

Bruised ones would not work, thrown away—

we are instruments

We get bruised, we get broken,- most churches are too busy to help SOMEONE

“what’s the church gonna do”----What are you gonna do?

I want to see people fixed----

I get to pastor goofed up people----

USE TO BOTHER ME---JOB SECURITY

“things are bad” you say, "WHY DON”T YOU COME TO OUR CHURCH"

TAKE THE CHURCH TO THEM---

Smoking Flax---When the cloth isn’t in the oil anymore--- smoke no fire, JUST STINKS

They were burning----NOT ANYMORE

Many have experienced Spiritual Burnout----

Great ministry is hard----

Reach out a hand and draw back a nub----

THEY ATE MY HAND

I can let those people get to me----Keep loving them---Get them burning again
