Why Give Thanks?

Summary: The Bible makes it clear that our thanksgiving ought to be rooted and grounded in the revelation of Who God is.
“WHY GIVE THANKS?”
Psalm 136:1-3
We give thanks...
1. Because He is MERCIFUL. (v. 1) O give thanks unto the LORD; for He is Good: for His mercy endureth for ever Psalm 73:1; 145:9; 1 Chronicles 16:34; Ezra 3:11; Matthew 5:45; James 1:17; Psalm 100:5; Nahum 1:7; Psalm 25:8; 86:5
2. Because He is MAJESTIC. (v. 2) O give thanks unto the God of Gods: for His mercy endureth for ever Deuteronomy 10:17; Daniel 2:47; 1 Samuel 12:24; John 17:3; Ephesians 4:16
3. Because He is MAGNIFICIENT. O give thanks to the LORD of Lords: for His mercy endureth for ever 1 Timothy 6:15; John 13:7; Psalm 115:3; 135:6; Revelation 17:14
