Summary: The real reason we don’t see more soul winners is a lack of concern for broken people.

The world is still mostly unreached & unsaved after more than 2000 years of Christianity.

1.) World population in nearing five billion, most have never heard the gospel. [Amazing – USA]

[Six billion 2001]

2.) Another amazing fact: Most believers will never win a soul! (approx. 95% Evangelism Explosion)

3.) In spite of the Great Commission. (Mt. 28)

4.) Why? (Reasons)

(1) Training? [Talk about this next week]

(2) Fear?

• Are you afraid to tell others about Christ???– of what their looks, thoughts and words?????

• What about at the time of the judgment???? [POEM: “My Friend”]

Three main reasons concerning why there are not more soul-winners.

1- There Is A Lack Of Conviction That People Are Really Lost.

1- Half (46%) of all Americans do not believe in a literal Hell.

2- This “rich man” was convinced! [Too late – 5 minutes in hell = evangelist!!!]

3- Bible= about lost condition. (Jn. 3:18, 36, 5:28-29, Dan. 12:2, 2 Thess. 1:7-9, Rev. 20:15)

4- Without this conviction people will be lost forever!!!

5- Believer’s are God’s hands to a lost world. (Rom. 10:11-17)

6- Soul winning is literally snatching men and women out of the fire! (Jam. 5:20; Jude 22-23a)

2- There Is A Lack Of Concern For the Lost.

1- “Concern” is almost a lost word.

2- “They made their bed” mentality. (So did we!!!)

3- Most of us have felt like David at some time. (Ps. 142:4 b)

4- God’s people must be care!

(1) Jeremiah was concerned over his generation! (Jer. 9:1)

(2) Paul was concerned over the people of his day! (Rom. 9:1-3)

(3) Jesus demonstrated His concern constantly. (Mt. 9:36)

5- We need a fresh anointing of concern. (Ps. 126:6)

6- God is looking for someone to stand in the gap. (Ezek. 22:30)

3- There Is A Lack Of True Consecration Among Believers.

1- The chief obstacle of Christianity is not the cults. [names]

2- It is the Godless lifestyle professing Christians live!!! (2 Cor. 6:16-7:1)

3- Consecration (Dedicated obedient living) makes us available to God! (Rom.12:1-2)

Believers must have…

A conviction that people are really lost without God.

A concern that would constrain us to do more. (Sympathy vs. Compassion)

A difference in the manner of life we live.

This would overcome the “Fear & Training”!

Are You Waiting For Someone Else To Do It For Us.

1- “Someone else can do it better than me”????

2- Some are deluded into the belief that Sunday Morning is the best evangelist approach.

3- God promises His help – that is all we need!!!

1-

Jn 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Jn 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

Jn 5:28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.

Dan 12:2 And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

2 Thess 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, 8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: 9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Rom. 10:11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."

12 ¶ For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." 14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" 16 But not all the Israelites accepted the good news. For Isaiah says, "Lord, who has believed our message?" 17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ.
