6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials ,7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; 1 Peter 1:6-7 (NASB)

a 13 but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 1 Peter 4:13 (NASB)

b His word suggests an end-time culture that is violently anti-Christian.

1 But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come.2 For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy,3 unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good,4 treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,5 holding to a form of godliness , although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.6 For among them are those who enter into households and captivate weak women weighed down with sins, led on by various impulses,7 always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.8 Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, rejected in regard to the faith. 2 Tim 3:1-8 (NASB)

b As we become more Godless, tilt more towards Godlessness, it’s worse projections are coming to pass.

a A “difficult or perilous” time describes the cultural conditions of the last days.

aa Means “raging, out of control, or fierce.”

bb Only used twice in the entire N.T.

b 28 When He came to the other side into the country of the Gadarenes, two men who were demon-possessed met Him as they were coming out of the tombs. They were so extremely violent that no one could pass by that way.29 And they cried out, saying, "What business do we have with each other, Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?"30 Now there was a herd of many swine feeding at a distance from them.31 The demons began to entreat Him, saying, "If You are going to cast us out, send us into the herd of swine."32 And He said to them, "Go!" bb Jesus is met by violent, demon-possessed men, who immediately recognized Him as the Son of God.

cc They had met before (heavenly rebellion) & knew they had a certain / limited amount of time to do their sins & work.
