Have ever just been sitting somewhere alone & find yourself asking the question, "who am I" really?

How many of us would agree, that would be an important question to ask ourselves from time to time?

I want to look at 3 different references that scripture gives us, as people.

These 3 are Sinner, Lukewarm, & then Believer.

I. Sinner...

What is a sinner?

Webster Dictionary says; one that sins...

Romans 3:23 NLT For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God's glorious standard.

We are all born into this world as "sinners".

Everyone has to come to the realization that they are a sinner before they ever acknowledge they need a Savior.

Thats why Jesus had to come & had to die. All people are born sinners.

Romans 5:8 NLT But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

The whole purpose for Jesus coming was to provide a way for us not to have to remain under this sin curse, but to be redeemed from sin.

Isaiah 43:25 NLT "I—yes, I alone—will blot out your sins for my own sake and will never think of them again.

WOW! I once was lost but now I am found...

II. Lukewarm...

The next view I would like for us to consider is this one.

Revelation 3:15-19 NKJV “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

This is an insight that Jesus was giving us about how we see ourselves.

• Are we looking at ourself with a false view?

• Are we afraid to admit that we were once following Jesus with a passion that made us hot in our pursuit of His Will, but have lost track?

• What do you truly look like when you are on fire running after Him?

Notice Jesus said to be "zealous" & repent of this false view we have ourselves.

get back on track asap!

We all go through different seasons in our life & some will weigh us down & can cause a time of lukewarmness.

Lamentations 5:21 NLT Restore us, O Lord , and bring us back to you again!

Give us back the joys we once had!

God's Will is always to restore us! Never is He seeking justification to leave us or forsake us.

Are you feeling a little uneasy right now with this message?

There is no condemnation in this; it is mercy trying to call you out of this state of being & bring you back into a healthy relationship with Jesus.

Revelation 3:20-21 NLT "Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends. Those who are victorious will sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat with my Father on his throne.

III. Believer...

Webster's Dictionary; to have a firm religious faith...

2 CORINTHIANS 5:17 CEV Anyone who belongs to Christ is a new person. The past is forgotten, and everything is new.

When you read this, how do you see yourself???

COLOSSIANS 3:10, 12-15 CEV Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more and more like your Creator, and you will understand him better. God loves you and has chosen you as his own special people. So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient. Put up with each other, and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you. Love is more important than anything else. It is what ties everything completely together.

Each one of you is part of the body of Christ, and you were chosen to live together in peace. So let the peace that comes from Christ control your thoughts. And be grateful.

We are special to God. Once you acknowlegde that, life takes on a whole new dimension for us.

Check this out...

Deuteronomy 7:6 NLT For you are a holy people, who belong to the Lord your God. Of all the people on earth, the Lord your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.
