Who Do Men Say That I Am?

Summary: Jesus asked this question to the group of his disciples that were with him.
This is a question that was in the mouth of Jesus's disciples for a long time even before Jesus himself decided to ask that question, it was a question that the disciples had wanted to ask and for a long time they were afraid to ask him that question that was already in the heart of Jesus. Jesus himself knew the answer to the question and he decided on this fateful day to ask the disciples the question.
And when Jesus who was present when the universe was being created by the Father, came to the earth to redeem us all from the evil one - Colossians 1:13. He knew who he was right from the beginning of his time here on earth. He came for a purpose and fulfilled his purpose here on earth before he went back to heaven to be with his father. He came for us all and after his death on the cross on that day, he was received back into heaven.
He is in heaven on the right-hand side of his father, and he is still doing what he originally came to do and that is to win souls into his kingdom, and he has given the same commission to us that believes.
Jesus is whom he says he is and far more than we can ever accept or believe him to be, Jesus is more than we can ever begin to imagine him to be, he is the Son of God - 1 John 4:9; 1 Timothy 2:5 ; Luke 19:10. And Jesus came to this lost world to save us all from the wickedness of this world.
The bible rightly records that Satan is the god of this world for a short time.
Scriptures on Satan as the god of the earth:
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
John 8:44
You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
2 Corinthians 11:14
And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
Revelation 12:9
So, the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Romans 16:20
And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
Ephesians 6:11- 18
Put on the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the whole Armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—
Luke 10:18
And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.
Satan who was the god of this realm had fallen from heaven after he rebelled against God and he and his fallen angels were cast out of heaven to the earth, where he is now the god of this realm for a short time - 1 John 3:8 ; Roman 16:20 ; John 10: 10 ; Matthew 16:23. Satan is a deceiver of mankind, and he has been lying from the day that he was kicked out of heaven to the earth, he is called the father of all lies by Jesus when he spoke about Satan to the people that were gathered to hear Jesus speak - John 8: 42 - 44.
Jesus is whom he says is he and there are no questions about Jesus as the Son of God, as the Messiah - John 1:41; John 4:25.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the Life - John 14: 6.
