Summary: WHEN GOD SPEAKS TO US IT WON'T ALWAYS BE SOMETHING THAT WE LIKE

I CAN’T KEEP RUNNING AWAY!!!

Propose a question---

WHAT ARE YOU RUNNING AWAY FROM THAT YOU SHOULD BE RUNNING TO?

JONAH 1:1

In the Bible, the prophet Jonah was swallowed by a whale after God caused his ship to sink and then was tossed up onto dry land after three days and nights

THE PROPHET WHO REBELS

Nowadays everybody wanna talk like they got something to say

But nothing comes out when they move their lips

Just a bunch of gibberish

WHEN GOD SPEAKS TO US IT WON'T ALWAYS BE SOMETHING THAT WE LIKE

INSTEAD OF GOING EAST TO NINIVEH JONAH , HE DECIDED TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF GOD HAS TOLD HIM TO DO

Truth is DELAYED OBEDIENCE IS STILL DISOBEDIENCE

HOW IS IT THAT A MAN OF GOD TRIES TO RUN AWAY FROM GOD?

When we do things against what God wants-THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A BOAT HEADED IN THE WRONG DIRECTION

There is only one way-we have gotta get on the right boat

The enemy wants us to run- he will distract us to a point of draining us…

I CAN IMAGINE

HE IS ON THE SHIP AS THE STORM IS HAPPENING WHO HE IS OR REPRESENTS BUT YET FAILS TO REALIZE THAT OUR GOD WHO MADE THE LAND AND SEA WAS ALSO IN THE MOMENT CONTROLLING THE STORM ON THE SEA

HOW RUDE AND SELFISH CAN WE BE AS KINGDOM CITIZEN BE TO PLACE YOURSELF IN A SITUATION AGAINST WHAT WE KNOW GOD HAS TOLD US TO DO AND NOT EXPECT THERE TO BE A CONSEQUENCE---

EVEN MORE HE TOLD THEM TO HELP HIM DIE BY THROWING HIM INTO THE MIDDLE OF THE STORM

BUT GOD---

INTIMACY WITH GOD—start with prayer---IN 2 ME I C

The point of being intimate with God is so we can have a closer relationship with him

ACCOUNTABILITY

IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHERE YOU ARE GOING, PEOPLE WILL BE GLAD TO TAKE YOU WHEREVER THEY ARE HEADED…

GOD MAY USE A STORM TO WAKE US UP

Not every storm is because we did anything wrong because good and bad will happen…but everything is not the Devil's fault…

YOU CAN RUN FROM GOD BUT YOU CAN’T HIDE FROM HIM

SOME OF US HAVE BEEN SLEEPING ON THE BOAT GOING IN THE WRONG DIRECTION

JONAH 1:9

Jonah answered, “I'm a Hebrew, and I worship the Lord God of heaven, who made the sea and the dry land.”

WHO AM I NOW?
