Where Will You Be When God Vomits
Contributed by Dr. Ronald Shultz on Sep 8, 2021 (message contributor)
Summary: Be careful of who you believe and fellowship with in these last days.
Revelation 3:15-17
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: KJV
It is sad to say that much of what passes for Christianity in this age is the gagging in the back of God’s throat soon to be vomited. So much of it is never offending, be rich and healthy pablum. Oh, it has some excitement and entertainment. It has some noise and colorful characters promoting the vanilla God is all about love and never anger or judgment message.
Well, at least unless you point out their heresy and then they want God to give them a spiritual machine gun to mow down their opponents. Also, if you don’t tithe, they would love to be able to take the non-tithers outside and have the ushers cut them down with Uzis and bury them in a mass grave so that the rest of the church can get the anointing. Yes, such comments have been made. Odd ducks, these modern preachers of prosperity. Indeed, the god they serve may approve of such thoughts but not the God of the Bible.
If people would actually read the Bible and seek Him many of these preachers would be out of business and have to sell their jets and mansions. The foolishness they preach is very easily disproved, but they make folks feel good and give them hope of reaching the thing they truly love, money.
Have they not read history? Nearly all of God’s people have been poor and persecuted in every land they were and are now found. The Apostles were all martyred, with maybe the exception of John, if the tradition is correct. Where was the prosperity message all these centuries?
Be careful about where you feed spiritually. The message may sound sweet and it may be presented in such a way to make you hunger for it, but you can eat something that went down well, but did not stay down. The same can happen if you eat at a spiritual buffet.
Proverbs 23:8 The morsel which thou hast eaten shalt thou vomit up, and lose thy sweet words. KJV
These preachers are not giving you the cold drink of living water your dry and thirsty soul needs. Neither are they giving you the truth that will truly warm your soul including some things that may seem a bit spicy at first, but cleanse you and invigorate you.
Jesus and the Apostles did not preach soft serve vanilla ice cream. Indeed, they gave sweet words of grace, but they also preached things hard to understand and spoke of the fire of Hell and the judging fires of the BEMA seat for the Christian.
If you have fallen for this false gospel then I pray that you will find a church that is grounded in the Word, not grounded in money or false signs and wonders. You do not want to be vomited out with those lads and lassies! Find Jesus and you will have all the wealth you need in Him though you may be poor as a church mouse here on earth. Maranatha!
